Happy Holidays!

HolidayQuilt2014

I must have been truly starved for creative time, because as soon as I got home from work on Friday –with two weeks vacation in front of me– I found a pattern I liked, pulled out my fabrics, and started cutting. No hand sewing for me this time. I needed some visible progress as soon as possible. So I sat at my sewing machine every free minute. After a week, this is what I have. All that’s left is to find some backing fabric, buy the batting, quilt it and bind it. I’m not sure how I’ll quilt it yet. Will I do it by hand or by machine? My inclination is to do it by hand, but that’s probably because I haven’t done much quilting on my machine before. But it might be nice to have it on my lap through the cold months as I stitch by hand. Then I won’t have to storeĀ it away so soon, where it will wait until next December to be pulled out and hung up by the front door.

  1. What an accomplishment! I am so impressed with your tenacity. (And your ability to have everything that should line up … line up!.) Looking forward to seeing it in person.
